The Crime Scene Unit consists of two full-time civilian technicians, one full-time police officer, and three police officers who assist in an Auxiliary Crime Scene Unit capacity. 

Together this unit is responsible for documenting, collecting, photographing, processing, and analyzing evidence located at all major crime scenes. CSU also coordinates with the New Mexico Department of Public Safety Forensic Laboratory learn more for latent fingerprint analysis, DNA, firearms forensics, and other avenues of forensic investigation.
